Años de ejecución:
2024-2026
Elementos de interés:
CO2 capture
To research, implement, and demonstrate at TRL 7 an innovative and energyefficient carbon capture process known as VacuumAssisted Calcium Looping (VCaL), which enables the capture and purification of direct CO₂ emissions from industrial sources for subsequent storage or utilization.
Descripción del proyecto:
The overall objective of the VCaL project is to research, implement, and demonstrate at TRL 7 an innovative and energyefficient carbon capture process called VacuumAssisted Calcium Looping (VCaL). This technology enables the capture and purification of direct CO₂ emissions from industrial processes for storage or utilization purposes.
The technology will be validated through a demonstration pilot operating in an industrial environment, specifically in frit melting furnaces, and also virtually through an innovative Digital Twin. This Digital Twin will integrate all plant elements and control levels into its model, enabling validation of plant operation and allowing the evaluation of any potential operating conditions within a safe simulation environment.
